Our vision and commitment

Throughout History, Europe and the Mediterranean Sea have been intimately bound.

With regard to the international political context and the major challenges of security and economic sovereignty, we are convinced that the future of Europe will be increasingly linked to the development of the Mediterranean area.

As the ideal promoted by the Union for Mediterranean (UfM), we aim to contribute to the reinforcement of Euro-Mediterranean partnership and to overcome the misunderstandings between European and oriental civilizations.

What we do

Our purpose is to foster a better integration of the Mediterranean countries into the system of the European Union. Through our actions, proposals, assessments, and experiments, CEMC aims at playing a major role in the democratic debate and at building social cohesion between Mediterranean countries and the European Union. CEMC seeks to share common knowledge from academics, business leaders, business players, legal experts, and other people from civil society in order to improve our understanding of the Mediterranean area in the fields of economy, security, politics, sociology, health and culture.

How we work

CEMC is an association of experts with specific interests designed to provide exclusive and individual information acquired through open source and academic research, as well as insider knowledge andin-depth background checks. Furthermore, based on expertise gathered by experts on the ground, CEMC enhances its analysis by using the information mapping method developed by Robert E. Horn.

Our association relies on an agile and efficient structure which is supported by a wide range of consultants and contributors who provide information by researching open source data and exchanging with a large network of experts.

What we offer

  • We generate exclusive reports on specific questions of interest, elaborated and exclusively provided to our beneficiaries.
  • We deliver specific advice to help decision-makers regarding their investments in the Mediterranean area.
  • We conduct field surveys thanks to the contribution of domestic consultants who locally collect ambient information on security situation.
  • We produce exclusive analysis on domains such as politics, economics, security, humanitarian situations, and we offer inputs for drafting threat evaluations and risk assessments.

About us

Our team

CEMC is a Centre of Expertise for Mediterranean Convergence. Since January 2022, I have supported cooperation and integration across Mediterranean countries by providing consulting, training, research, and project management services. I work with institutions, organizations, businesses, and civil society actors to promote dialogue, innovation, and sustainable development in the region.

Patrick Hoffman, Director

I know decisive and complex challenges that are necessary for the preparation of political, security and economic expertise for the customers. Due to recurring professional stays in the geopolitical sphere of influence of the Mediterranean region including the Balkans, Turkey, and the Middle East, I have relevant expert knowledge of the region.
